 8 years ago today. 9 Mar 2009. It's been 8 years since they met. 8 years to the day some crazy murderer exactly killed a woman the way Castle killed them in his books. 8 years to the day was called in for questioning by the Homicide Detective Beckett, and 8 years to when he started consulting as an external help for the NYPD. Castle was the most annoying, brain wrecking person you'd ever meet. He was someone who would make you want to pull all your hair out. There are two kinds of folks who sit around thinking how to kill people. Psychopaths and Mystery writers. He was the kind that payed better. The best selling author's perspective and thinking was what impressed Kate Beckett the most. His sense of humor and the charm in his eyes and his extremely lovable nature, that's what made her fall in love with him. For years together, they never confessed. Never confessed their love for each other. Never admitted how much they cared. They were always there for each other, you know? Always there for each other. Kate's past held her back from ever loving someone too much. Her walls were always up.She wouldn't let anybody in, nor would she ever get out. Her mother's murder was the most tragic thing that ever happened to her. 14 years and the murderer was still at large. Every time Castle got got close to her mother's murder, to help her figure it, she'd lash out. He opened old wounds. But Castle didn't give up. He giver her the time she needed to tell him herself. Your past is a part of you, but you can't let that be your anchor. Kate realized the weight of that after she fell for Castle. Solving crimes together, and sentencing murderer was their trademark. Dressing each other's wounds and helping each other cope up with life, that's what they did. Searching Johanna Beckett's Murder created many obstacles in their life. It took 14 years, to figure out the Senator Williams Bracken had killed her mother. Why? Gang Violence. When Kate found out that Castle was searching her mother's killer without her permission, she was furious. "You first stabbed my heart with a knife, Castle. And now, you twisted it. I've had enough of you. We're done here, Castle", she said, before they were even together. "We are bound by our choices, but we are more than our mistakes", said Beckett, as she finally forgave him. Afterall, she was in love. She may not have admitted it yet, but she was. One day, during one such attempt at finding the killer, she got shot. Straight to the chest. Right when Castle was next to her. And just before she knocked out, Castle said it. "I love you. I love you, Kate. Stay with me!" heard Kate, as she slowly flickered her eyes and dozed off.

I'm not exactly who'd you'd call an emotional person, I suppose. Some call me cold- hearted, while some look upto my strength and ask me where I get it from. I tend to usually not give in to the hate, and the eye rolls. But at some point of time, you break down. 356 days. It's been 356 days since my black and white life has started to have a bit of grayscale. It feels shallow to move on, to have a life, to live a day, to let a year pass by. But they don't just pass by. Some days are so heart-wrenching it feels strenuous to move, even breathe, and live the reality that was once my worst nightmare. When I look back and read what I wrote a year ago, I question if I've made any "progress." If I've learned to grieve better. if I've found a way to live around this loss. In her absence, you feel her so much more. You notice her habits in her people because her people were her legacy too. You find her in Dina Masi's grip when you cross the road, how she wouldn't intertwine her fingers with yours but always hold your arm instead. How the Pandemic affected me

We're living in unprecedented times. From what I've heard through various youtubers, it usually takes you 21 days to make something a habit. That's why they say, if you want become a morning person, wake up at 7am everyday, no matter what, for 21 days, and then it shouldn't be an issue. You'd think that applied to living through a global pandemic. We're literally living the hyperbole. What a sensational time we're living in. Many of us, myself included, seem to forget it's been a hundred and sixty five days since the world shut down. You get used to the flow, the lost track of time, the "when did I last shower?" (that one's just me, oops?) We're all trying so hard to get back into the normal and wish to just go to college and live at the hostel, get back into the offices and meet our colleagues, that we never did take the time to process, what a toll this can take on our minds.
