Let go.

Why is it that we judge people on the basis of our thought processes? Why do we not realize that everyone thinks in a different way, and why does it take so long for us to digest how they think and feel? We trust them, right? But what does that even mean? It means that if you trust someone, you know them well enough to understand that they are worth something, that just because they think differently, doesn't mean they think wrong. We know them well enough to understand that whatever they do have in mind, is only for the benefit, and that they wouldn't do something just without thinking. Why do we say we trust them when we don't really? Why is it that we just forbid them from doing something, or in the least making sure that they know you don't approve? Why is it that we say we support them, but we go back on our words when they really just needed us to be there, in the first place? Why is it that they are supposed to listen to everything we "advice" them, but really, what even is that too? We are basically telling them how to live their life! I get that you don't want them to make the same mistakes you did, but that doesn't mean you tell them how to live their life. You can guide them, tell them your tales, but what you definitely cannot do is live their life for them! Because in the end, it is their decision to make.

Why do we get so scared of something we don't understand? Why is it that just because we don't understand it, they don't either?
That they have no clue what they are doing? Is that right? The real question is, did you even hear them when they were shouting out to you? They were calling out you name, seeking your help, but maybe you were just too self- occupied and oblivious to what they were trying to convey? Did you even hear their side of it?

Are we so over-protective of them, that we don't even let them choose they people they feel comfortable around? Do we do that for them as well? Maybe you think that they'll get into the "wrong hands" but if you don't even let them explore and realize it on their own, maybe you're the "wrong hands" they should be worried about. It's about time you realize that they can handle it, no matter what. The same boiling water that softens the potato, hardens the egg. It's about what you're made of, not the circumstances. You've got to understand that you can't lose what you never had, you can't keep what's not yours, and you can't hold on to something that doesn't want to stay.
